Things You Can Buy on the Bus

- by Pablo

Yesterday, I traveled back to Trujillo via the public bus. It was only $8 for a 6 hour trip. Pretty good deal. In fact, it´s amazing that they can turn a profit at that price. At each stop, vendors would come on the bus selling the following items.
  • Apples
  • Sodas
  • Grapes
  • Kitchen towels
  • Coconut bread
  • Homemade snacks
  • Chips
  • And...men´s underwear

That makes me laugh every time I think about it.

That's great. It would make me a bit wary about the bus driver's skills, though, if they sense a market for clean underwear :)

I'm so thankful that you made it home safely last night, Thad. Did the group from Goodwood make it there with no delays?

Let me take this opportunity to thank you and Rachel for all of the organization, hard work and preparation you did to make our team's trip a smooth one. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that the trip was a life-changing experience. I told Ricky that I need to set the AC here on 89 or higher now, as I am FREEZING anywhere that has AC!! A warm shower, I must admit, was nice last night, though...

I personally cannot wait to return!! I see why you guys love it so much in Trujillo. Reflecting back on all of those sweet children and their hugs smiles - wow. What a place. I keep thinking of South Carolina's license plates that say "Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places." I think that is a perfect slogan for Trujillo.

On to business, Rachel, here's what I have here:

Paint Projects for K-6 and grade 9, also these 7th graders:
Valery Marin
Bryan Aguilar
Darwin Lainez
Delmer Morales
Edwin Lopez
Jairo Salinas
Jose Diaz
Jose Osoria
Kevin Escobar
Kevin Rosales
Orbis Melendez
Wilson Cartagena

Letters for K, 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, and 9

Some of the envelopes for the letters came home with me empty -- do you want those names?

Let me know if you need further info.

We love you all and pray for your safety always. Tell Mary Kyle and John Mark to tell Mika and Wee hello from the US!! HAHAHA! Give a shout to Annina and Nadine, too. We miss you guys!!
